Truck Day

Today our students got the opportunity to go to truck day!  It was scheduled several weeks back, but due to the weather it had to be rescheduled.  Today was beautiful, so it couldn't have been on a better day.  We started at the Mobile Crime Unit. We also visited Military Vehicles, an Ambulance, a Suddenlink Truck, a Cement Truck and a Fire Truck.  Each speaker was really nice and they did an awesome job of explaining what they did.  We are going to be studying community helpers, so this was a perfect introduction.  Here are a few photos I snapped while we were out there! :)

Bye Miss Z!

We were so very lucky to have Miss Z full time in the classroom from January until May.  She learned so much over the course of her time at Wintergreen and has grown into an amazing teacher.  On her last day with us, we had a celebration for her.  The students had been sneaking in presents and goodies for a couple of weeks and she was so surprised to come back to the room to a party.  We are definitely going to miss her, but we wish her will in Grad school!  We love you Miss Z!

Field Trip to Strawberries on 903

On May 1st we traveled with 3 other classes to Strawberries on 903 for our annual field trip.  Most of the students had never been before, so I was super excited about their reaction to the farm.  We started out learning about the farm and what we would see.  Then, we went to see all the animals on the farm and for a hayride.  Finally we got to pick strawberries!!  They should have weighed some of them before they went in,  because they ate more than they put in their containers!  When we finished at the farm, we went to the park for lunch and lots of playtime.  The students had the best time and they were soooo tired by the time we got home.  I bet they all slept well that night!  If you haven't been to the strawberry patch before, I would definitely recommend it!

Field Day

Field Day was April 27th.  I am horrible about getting pictures at Field Day because we have to work a station and once the kids spread out among the 20 stations, it's hard to find them to take their pictures.

Katelyn and Kameryn were my little divas that day and they stayed close by, so when they came back like this, I couldn't resist a picture!
